Multifunctional reading lamp

Miguel Angel shows us here that reading lamps are not just very practical when it comes to browsing in the dark.

You probably are familiar with the practical little reading lamps with clamps that you can attach to books.

When I recently used my lamp for reading, I realized that it could be useful for other applications as well.

Time and again you need to use both hands for some work in the obscure. An object made of iron is often nearby. The small plastic clamp can only be attach to thin items though. Wouldn't a magnetic reading lamp be so practical!

So, I used my Dremel to mill 12 indentations into the underside of the plastic clamp.

I glued a tiny S-03-01-N disc magnet in each of the 12 indentations.

The lamp can now be attached anywhere where there is something metallic, for instance on the fridge.

Here, it not only can hold a recipe, it can light it up as well.

The computer has issues or needs to be dusted off?

You definitely find your way around the depths of your computer much better if you have a little lamp attached to the housing, illuminating the parts.

You have to remember that the lamp has to stay on the housing, so the magnets don't come near the storage medium!

The lamp is also practical when attached to the bonnet and can bring light into the dark when doing repairs. Uuh, now you can see how dirty it really is in there!
