Description

These rubber caps made of silicone can be placed over the bottom of pot magnets. This protects delicate surfaces, and the friction also increases the load capacity of the magnet in shear direction. The tensile strength, however, will decrease slightly.

The disc magnet S-20-10-N (20x10 mm) can hold approximately 1,75 kg in shear direction, then the steel plate starts sliding down.

However, fitted on the back with a suitable rubber cap of 21 mm diameter, the same magnet can hold a lateral load of more than 5 kg before starting to slide. The rubber cap is practically invisible because it is black and very thin.
